As TIA's Industry Advocate, Rachael ensures our members’ views are heard loud and clear, talking and meeting with members and organisations whose work impacts on tourism such as the Department of Conservation and WorkSafe NZ. Rachael works to resolve issues impacting on members and ensures TIA takes a leadership role on pan-industry issues including adventure tourism and immigration. Rachael is also a Mountain Safety Council Board Member. Rachael’s previous role with TIA was the project leader for adventure and outdoors.
Bona fide action woman Rachael is also an outdoor and adventure safety specialist with years of experience under her belt.
Prior to joining TIA Rachael worked in 13 countries as an adventure guide and outdoor instructor. Rachael is TIA’s first (and so far only) world champion, winning a world championship as a member of the New Zealand Women’s Rafting Team. Rachael is based in Wanaka so she can make the most of New Zealand's great outdoors.
