TIA aims to provide quality representation and services to help and promote the future development of New Zealand tourism on a sustainable basis.
To achieve this aim TIA works closely with key government and non-government on a wide range of environmental and industry development programmes. These include tourism concession issues, tourism training, quality standards, yield management and business improvement tools.
TIA represents the views of its members (largely tourism operators) on sustainability matters with consideration to social, environmental, and economic issues. It also assists in the development of tourism infrastructure and services.
For tourism to flourish in New Zealand it is essential that tourism remains a positive and compatible activity in the country’s many natural and built environments.
This goal requires TIA to be active with issues at the central, regional and local government level, including the vital contribution iwi and communities play in the tourism industry. |
