Keeping Safe as a Visitor in New Zealand

The Tourism Industry Association New Zealand (TIA) has been helping to coordinate a joint tourism/ police project (led by the New Zealand Police) aimed at providing practical safety information for our overseas visitors.

A stock take of current information identified a need for one nationally consistent product that would combine the best advice from the range of material already available. It is not intended to replace targeted regional information already in circulation, but will be an umbrella document endorsed by both the New Zealand Police and the tourism industry.

If users don't already have an account with Travel Express Online, you can register online and then order the brochures. Distribution is paid for by the New Zealand Police.

Tourism and Hospitality Workforce Strategy

The Tourism and Hospitality Workforce Strategy is an effort by a group of key industry associations, and industry training organisations, with the support of government departments and agencies, to ensure the New Zealand tourism and hospitality sector has the people and skills it needs to grow and prosper.

The Strategy outlines the workforce issues, identifies a series of six goals for the industry and the actions that may be required to reach them. It showcases solutions that ITOs, industry associations and government are implementing today - solutions that may provide useful blueprints for others.
